We are excited to be recruiting the first CEO for the newly incorporated Edmonton Screen Industries Office (“ESIO”).  The ESIO will serve all screen industries which encompass fiction and nonfiction content, inclusive of live action, animation and interactive video games. It will foster Edmonton’s potential as a national and international centre of excellence in storytelling, creativity, innovation, collaboration and production.

Requirements

The following experience and skills are desired for the role:

  • University degree and/or equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience to lead the ESIO;
  • Proven track record developing and implementing strategies to create and/or significantly grow an organization;
  • Strong public relations and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders;
  • ïPrevious experience and success working with a Board of Directors;
  • Experience with respectful negotiation and consultation to reach successful business outcomes;

Some preferable experience and skills would include:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit; an ability to champion the ESIO with key stakeholders and serve as an ambassador for Edmonton’s screen industry;
  • Proven success in major event planning and execution;
  • Relevant business experience in the industry (e.g. TV, Film, Intellectual Property, Interactive Digital Media, Virtual Reality) including knowledge of industry trends, funding programs and development opportunities.
