The Dubai International Film Festival, the regions’ leading film festival is looking to recruit a strategic, dynamic and ambitious team playing individual to join the festival in the role of Dubai Film Market Manager (DFM).

The DFM Manager’s role is to co-ordinate all aspects of the festivals business hub which since its inception in 2007 has grown to become the leading industry platform in the region and the gateway to one of the fastest growing film and TV markets in the world.

In addition the DFM Manager will develop the market, ensuring the year-round slate of initiatives and programmes support filmmakers and the burgeoning film industry in the region and increase audience reach, attendance, participation and satisfaction while meeting the festival’s cultural and business objectives. 

Requirements

Qualification: Educated to degree level with a background in filmmaking, media, production and the arts.

Experience: 8 to 13 years of experience with at least 5 - 8 years in a relevant role in the film and television industry or in a similar role at another film & TV market.

  • The applicant should have significant knowledge in the field of film and TV, substantial industry experience, a great contact list, brimming with ideas and a vision on how best to execute them.
  • Strong verbal communications, excellent organisational and leadership skills will be vital and the ability to influence positively at all levels and be able to work under intense time pressures.
  • Be able to formulate and implement a strong strategy to deliver a high-profile, programme of industry events and initiatives.
  • Experience and contacts within the Arab Film and TV industry would be a benefit.  
  • Arabic language would be valuable, but it’s not a prerequisite.
  • The candidate should be a committed team player, thrive in a demanding yet rewarding environment and have a flexible attitude to work schedules and extended work days ahead and during the festival.
