Housed within the Sodaro-Pankey Undergraduate School of Media Arts, the Public Relations and Advertising degree program has a focus on storytelling for business, incorporating the use of the tools of film, television and the Internet and social media for strategic communications.

The Dodge PRA curriculum introduces students to public relations, advertising and then allows them to specialize in one or the other.  There are more than 200 majors and more than 200 students minoring in public relations or advertising.

Faculty duties include teaching both theory and strategic practice in introductory and advanced courses, academic advising, program development and service to the school and university.  The teaching load is three courses per semester in addition to continued professional work and/or research and scholarship.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have teaching and/or industry experience; an advanced degree in advertising, public relations, film or a related area, and/or significant management or executive experience in the film industry. Studio experience, particularly work in advertising/marketing in film or related entertainment areas is regarded as a plus. The successful candidate will be committed to teaching first as well as to continuing his or her own professional work.

Interested parties should submit a letter of interest, Curriculum Vitae, and three letters of recommendation to the Public Relations and Advertising Search Committee at FTVsearch@chapman.edu. Letters of recommendation can be attached or forwarded by the candidate, or sent to this email address directly from the candidate’s reference.  Review of applications will begin in November 2017, and continue until the position is filled.
