    FOX 6 News has more news than any other television in the state and we are seeking an aggressive, enterprising investigative reporter to join our team.  We have an award winning investigative unit that is digging for and uncovering important local stories. Developing sources and breaking stories is what our investigative unit is all about and our culture is one of providing content on multiple platforms not just broadcast. These days being a great reporter includes using various forms of technology to get the story out:  online postings, social media, videography, and whatever gets invented next.  Therefore, the ideal candidate is hungry and able to demonstrate how you juggle sources, work contacts and develop exclusive content.   You must also be ready to produce content on our broadcast and digital platforms and demonstrate how the stories on your resume reel are enterprised.

    Responsibilities

    • Creates storytelling that accurately informs and engages specific audiences and platforms. Works toward becoming a catalyst for positive change in communities, the region and the state.

    • Connects with the community through storytelling and outreach (social media, on camera, forums, community leadership, etc.).

    • Pays special attention to issues and trending topics and how the topic or issue plays a role in the audience s lives.

    • Works with news managers to evaluate what's working and what's not and develops plans to better satisfy audience needs.

    • Collaborates with internal teams (photojournalists, editors, and producers) to provide all the appropriate elements for stories (i. e. photos, videos and graphics).

    •  Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • You must have at least 4 years’ experience.
    • Must be able to show your exceptional writing, organizational, storytelling and live shot skills.
    • Deep understanding, curiosity and interest in the needs of the community and customers.
    • Social media skills, photo and video production knowledge required.
    • You must be a team player who works well within a cross-functional environment.
    • Effective communicator; able to get along with diverse personalities.
    • Able to multi-task and excel under intense deadline pressure in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Resume and reel of your best and most recent work is required.
